Security Federal dreamed of an undefeated season in girls 5-6 coach pitch softball at Milner Recreation Center.

Barr’s gently woke Security Federal from that dream on Monday night. Barr’s showcased its fine home furnishings for a comfortable 7-4 win in a game that came down to a few crucial plays at the plate.

Anna Kate Bryant had perhaps the biggest hit of the game for Barr’s. She connected with the bases loaded and blasted a fly ball that flew in the air all the way to the grass. What a shot!

That hit was part of a monster first inning for Barr’s that saw Amelia Griffith, Alexa Wells, Ellie Cate Mason and Anna Cate all score runs.

Security Federal battled back in the bottom of the first behind the bats of Daelyn Roland and Harper Bielling to cut the lead to 4-2.

Barr’s tried to put the game away in the second inning as Sassy Jefferson and Pinkie Eckart got in on the offense with hits. They contributed to a rally that saw Barr’s go ahead 7-2 heading into the last bat for Security Federal.

Security Federal scored twice, but was down 7-4 when its last batter stepped to the plate with two runners on base. A three-run home run could have tied the game, but the Barr’s defense was unforgiving and recorded the last out for the win.

The loss was the first of the season for Security Federal as Barr’s celebrated in happiness.
