Advanced Orthopedics stuck to the basics to earn a victory over First National Bank Tuesday in girls 7-8 machine-pitch league play.Advanced Orthopedics got two inside-the-park home runs from Hannah Corley and one from Alix Driver as the team piled up 14 hits in a 14-7 victory over First National Bank.Advanced Orthopedics made winning look easy Tuesday as Corley, Driver and Taylor Peterson provided most of the offense.All three finished with three hits apiece, including all having hits in the first inning as Advanced Orthopedics scored eight runs in the top of the first.Corley’s first inside-the-park home run wrapped up the first as she brought around Ryleigh Rankin and Emily DeArmond and enacted the league’s run-rule per inning.First National Bank fought back, getting a two-run triple by Gretchen Stuart and run-scoring singles from Macie Simmons and Mea Starkey to cut the deficit in half at 8-4.Driver led off the second with a double, then moved to third on a single by Chase Milanovich. Peterson brought both her teammates around with a triple, making it 10-4 going into the bottom of the second.First National Bank was held scoreless in the second, bringing Advanced Orthopedics back up with a chance to put the game away.Corley and Driver did just that. After DeArmond led off with a single, Corley followed with a two-run, inside-the-park home run.
