My wife and I don’t have children but we do enjoy being honorary uncle and aunt to many of our friends’ children. We make a point of not having anything in our house we are responsible for keeping alive other than ourselves. As Ashley likes to say, “no kids, pets or high-maintenance plants.” But we embrace the uncle and aunt life where we can enjoy watching and playing with the kids and then give them back when things get difficult.
