Chris Buescher, last year’s XFINITY Champion, won his first SPRINT Cup race last week. The 2016 Rookie of the Year has essentially been a race between two drivers: Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney. With Buescher’s win at Pocono, he has thrown himself into the mix for ROY. Although Buescher is far behind in ROY points, NASCAR does not automatically award the ROY Championship to the rookie with the most points.
