TO THE EDITOR:The column from the Johnson City Press published in Friday's Southern Standard fumed about the sales taxes in Tennessee. Sales taxes are only part of the story and the column omits other taxes.According to Wallethub.com, the total state tax burden in Tennessee is 6.56 percent (of income + sales + property). Only two states tax their citizens less: Delaware and Alaska.Tennessee has no income tax, with one minor exception: the Hall Tax on dividends, which affects only a small fraction of us.
