I disagree with stance for higher gasaline tax
Placeholder Image
TO THE EDITOR:In response to the School Board's push for a higher gas tax, may I point out using gasoline to drive is not a luxury to be taxed. The increase in taxes would unfairly affect those whom drive long distances to work, as well as those that drive long distances on a daily basis as part of their work. These people include truck drivers, home health nurses, and people that provide various services to homeowners, among other types of work. This tax will also increase the cost related to businesses such as paying for the transportation of goods and livestock across the state. So, is it wise to make it harder for folks to pay for their gas as they do their jobs and as they conduct their own business?Teresa SullivanFire Tower RoadSpencer
