Most epic collapses in sports

The Golden State Warriors had one of the most epic collapses I’ve ever seen in my life when the NBA Finals ended last Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors were rolling, up 3-1 in the series and me, just like so many other people around the world, thinking there was no way the Cavaliers would ever take two games from the Warriors in Oakland. That’s when Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 and they ran into the freight train which was Lebron James and Kyrie Irving. That collapse got me thinking on some other teams that have experienced a similar collapse, just when they thought they were going to roll to victory. A lot of people might think of the 2004 New York Yankees epic collapse against the Boston Red Sox, when they went up 3-0 and then watched the series evaporate before their eyes, losing the next four games in a row.Another example could be Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, when she lost to Holly Holm in a match where she was all but certain to win. With that being said, the question is: How does a team or athlete lose so much focus and let their guard down, when it only takes one match or one game to secure a title?
