I may have hung up my coaching hat for the last time (not that I actually wore a hat when I coached) this past week as the Jaycee basketball season drew to an end, marking my oldest son’s final youth game and thereby what could be my last game.I’ve coached or assistant coached one version of ball or another for a decade whether it be baseball, football, soccer or basketball. Jack has been athletically active since he was a little kid so I’ve volunteered my time to help coach since there's often a need for coaching in local leagues. My youngest son Henry, now 9, has shown no inclination for team sports so there is no temptation to do it all over again unless he has a change of heart.
