So let's see if we have this straight. A Bobby Ray administrator tells a student he needs to change a distracting haircut and suddenly the entire Warren County School System is against the military. This has to rank among the most overblown reactions of the decade. We can all debate about what's appropriate school attire and the role our school system should have in determining what students wear. But it's a folly-filled leap to suggest a person is against the United States military because there's an issue with a second-grader's haircut.Wrote Pitt County (N.C.) Commissioner Tom Coulson in a letter to the editor sent to the Standard on Friday, "As a former member of the military I personally feel insulted ..."Thank you for your service Mr. Coulson, but no insult intended.
