Did you know Wednesday was National Pet Obesity Awareness Day? I didn’t realize the momentous occasion until I began noticing all the notes flooding my email.National Pet Obesity Awareness Day is set aside to address the growing – and very serious – problem of fat pets. That’s because an estimated 55 percent of all cats and dogs in the U.S. are overweight or obese, according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention.In recognition of this special day, pet owners were encouraged to starve their pets all day.
