Woodbury resident and White County native Winnie Evalee Smoot, 89, was born Oct. 31, 1921 and died July 9 at Woodbury Nursing Center in Woodbury following an extended illness.A retired employee of McMinnville Garment Company and member of Trousdale Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Joe Edward and Rachel Evalee Medley Austin. She was married to Johnny G. Smoot, who preceded her in death April 20, 2008. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ernest, Dillard, Orvil, Monroe and Brady Austin; two sisters, Melvina Youngblood and Carrie Frazier; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Faye Smoot.
