William Russell Moore, 80

William Russell Moore, 80, died Monday, Aug. 17, at his residence. He was born in McMinnville, the son of the late Houston and Allene (Fitts) Moore. After high school, William joined the United States Air Force for 20 years. He served in the Korean War. In 1957, he married Bernice (Milish) Moore in Indianapolis. He was a member of VFW Post 5064. He enjoyed traveling the world, speaking Spanish, working for GE and later became self-employed and loved spending time with his family and friends.
William is survived by his sons, William Alan (Sheryl) Moore, Russell Aaron (Debbie) Moore; daughter, Athena Ann Wampler (Jeff Kermode); mother of grandchildren, Pam Moore; sisters, Sara Francis Perras and Stella (Bill) Gough; grandchildren, Amy Beaver, Bryan Moore, Nicholas Moore, Kaylee Moore, Candice Moore, Christopher Moore and Cassie Moore; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice; and sister, Hazel Conner.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Mt. View Cemetery. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064 by family and friends will meet at the cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
