William Herman Pierce, 82

William Herman Pierce, 82, a Rock Island resident and Davidson County native, was born Oct. 14, 1934 and died July 10 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a retired truck driver, member of the Baptist Church and son of the late Otto and Nellie Bryant Pierce.
Mr. Pierce was married Nov. 20, 1994 to Nelda Delong Pierce, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children and spouses, Heather and Jody Smith of Walling, Johnna and Nathan Sullivan of the Laurelburg community, Julie and John Dodson of Bone Cave, Jody and Christine Howard and Connie Debord, all of Spencer and William Pierce Jr. of Nashville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at High’s Chapel with Roy Terry to officiate. Interment will follow at Long Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
