Mr. William Cole Newby, 26, of McMinnville died Tuesday, May 4, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 14, 1994 in McMinnville, was an assembly worker at Tennessee Metal Fabrication in Rock Island, and a member of Cumberland Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Cole loved his boys and his family more than anything, he enjoyed welding, was an avid football fan especially the Auburn Tigers and the Green Bay Packers, and genuinely liked spending time outdoors. He was preceded in death by his mother Rhonda Jean Newby, maternal grandparents Arnold Fuston and Melba Jean Cantrell Watts, paternal grandparents William Harris and Lorene McCormick Newby, and his aunt Faye Nunley.
Cole is survived by his wife Ashlyn Grae Newby, sons William Ledger Newby and Lincoln Grey Newby, father Wendell Newby, sister and brother-in-law Shelley and Rusty Smith, brother and sister-in-law Craig and Sadie Newby, uncle Paul Nunley, and nieces Brooklyn Newby, Macie Kate Newby, and Londyn Smith. Many other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Deweese officiating. Interment will follow at Centertown Cemetery. The Newby family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at McMinnville Funeral Home.
