William Charles Owens, 71, of Smithville died Saturday night, Nov. 5 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville. He was born Nov. 23, 1944 to his parents, the late Willie Hobart Owens and Martha Elizabeth Taylor Owens Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, W.P. “Bill” Young and brother-in-law, Jerry Thacker.
