McMinnville resident and Warren County native Willburn McDowell, 94, was born Feb. 26, 1919 and died May 25 at Highland Medical Center in Sparta following a short illness.A dairy farmer and member of Dark Hollow Church of God Seventh Day, he was the son of the late John William and Josie Davis McDowell. He was married to Maggie Bottoms McDowell, who preceded him in death March 13, 1970 and Maggie Lavina Cannon McDowell, who preceded him in death Oct. 21, 2003. In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, JoLeta Reynolds; son, Willburn Jerry McDowell; stepson, Earl Lowery and two step-grandchilren.Mr. McDowell is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Paul Dunlap of Rock Island and Jimmie and Kenneth Pell of Sylvania, Ala.; two stepdaughters Ruth Hunter of McMinnville and Patricia Lowery of Nashville; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight step-great- grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Ronnie Reynolds of McMinnville and special caregivers, Kelly Long and family.Funeral service was Monday, May 27 in High’s Chapel with Paul Dunlap and Kenneth Pell officiating.
