McMinnville resident Wesley Cantrell Nelson, 80, was born Oct. 6, 1932 and died at his residence May 3 following a brief illness.
Mr. Nelson was an inspector with Thomson-Raymo-Woolridge in Ohio. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bryan and Myrtle Farless Nelson; four brothers, Wallace, Lesley, J.B. and Everett Nelson; two sisters, Thelma Melton and Jearline Webb; two sons, Jimmy Brady and Michael Nelson, and great-granddaughter, Angel Grace Johnson.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, “Jeanie” Leonard Nelson and one daughter, Brenda Norris, both of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Heather Johnson and Tyson Norris of McMinnville, and Megan Nelson of Florida; six great-grandchildren, Wesley, Kinzie, Bailey and Lilah Johnson, Alexis and Chayanne Nelson; two sisters, Emma Jean Hoover and Ruth Taylor, both of McMinnville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at Riverside Cemetery with Lane Dix officiating.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
