Walter Franklin Blair, 75, of Smithville died Sunday at his residence.
He was a member of Gath Baptist Church, a retired diesel mechanic and truck driver, and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Alma Capshaw Yeargin Blair; sister Lillie Mae Jones; and two brothers Virgil Blair Jr., and Gentry Blair.
Survivors include daughter, Sue and husband Lillard Colwell of Smithville; two sons, Randy Blair of Columbia and Freddy and wife Denise Blair of Smithville; six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Atnip of Centertown and Troy Blair of McMinnville; two sisters, Vesta Kinney and Pauline Corbin, both of McMinnville, and special friend and companion Betty Spencer.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. John Powers and Robert Powers officiated. Burial followed at Bluff Springs Cemetery in Warren County.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. The family asks donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in lieu of flowers.
