Virgil Lee “Red” Walker, 70, of McMinnville died Sunday, Dec. 11, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville.
Virgil was born Saturday, Nov. 2, 1946 in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of the late Earl Walker and Vada Vandergriff Cutts. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a truck driver for many years.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Judith Brown Walker; son Jeff Walker and wife April; daughter Sheila McBride; three stepsons Steve Emery, Leslie Ward and wife Melody and Kyle Ward and wife Stephanie; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother Freddie Walker and wife Sandra; special nephew Lynn Walker; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends also survive.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Ray Skyles officiating. Interment will follow at Gath Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at gardensofmemoryfuneralhome.com.
