Vennie Edith Parson, 96, of McMinnville passed from this life on Saturday, Aug. 14, at NHC HealthCare of McMinnville.

Vennie was born Sunday, Aug. 24, 1924 in Camden, Tenn., the daughter of the late Robert Cruse and the late Flora Helems Cruse. She was also preceded in death by her husband Therman Parson and son Therman E. Parson.

Vennie is survived by her five daughters Fanetta “Gay” White, Sandra Langley and husband Lynwood, Nellie Bobst and husband David, Debra Hollon and husband Robert, and Cheryl Claveria, son Darrell Parson, 30 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren, three great-great-great-grandchildren, special nurses at NHC Hobie, Jessica, Kasey, and Destiny, many other family members and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday Aug. 18, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Nunley and Sammy Doak officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Smartt, TN. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home.
