Truman Prater, 68, died Friday, March 13, at his home in Woodbury.A Cannon County native, he is survived by his wife, Ann Merriman Prater of Woodbury; mother, Laura Gentry Prater of Warren County; children Mark (Tabatha) Prater, Tim Prater and Latisha (Stan) Myers, all of Woodbury; five grandchildren, Jessica Prater, Brandon Prater, Holly Prater, Cody Prater and Samantha Mullican Howell; three great-grandchildren, Shaylynn Davenport, Coleigh Davenport and Skylar “Jasper” Howell; seven siblings, Faye (Phillip) Adcock of the Belk community, Brenda (Joe) Merriman of Woodbury, Nadine (Danny) Sain, Janice (James) Coleman, Gail (Danny) Gillette, Donny Prater, and Jimmy (Teresa) Prater, all of Warren County; in-laws, Wayne (Rachel) Merriman of Woodbury, Linda (Donald) Foster, and Jimmy (Carolyn) Merriman, all of Warren County. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, George Prater of Warren Country; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wavil and Tom Alford. He was a factory worker at Nissan, mechanic at Tennessee Trailer Sales, and a farmer.
