McMinnville resident and Portland, Ore., native Timothy Ray Smith, 57, was born March 5, 1959 and died Nov. 8 at his residence following an extended illness. A nursery worker and construction worker with Southern State Construction Company, he was the son of Loretta Simmons Smith of McMinnville and the late James Howard Smith Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Howard Smith Jr. and Terry Smith. He was married June 4, 1983 to Joyce Bost Smith of McMinnville.
