Thomas Carr, 82, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, Dec. 21.
He was a native of Overton County and the son of the late Shirley Howard and Earnal Gore Carr.
Mr. Carr is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ethel Carr; daughters, Debbie Carr of Ft. Jones, Calif., Karen Carr, Kim Luther and her husband Brad, all of Murfreesboro; sons, Tim Carr and his wife Pam of Dickson and Tom Carr of Columbia; five grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
Mr. Carr was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and a United States Naval veteran who served during the Korean War. He retired as an industrial engineer from Burroughs-Ross-Colville in McMinnville. He enjoyed leading a Boy Scout Troop in the 1970s, was an avid camper, and loved traveling throughout the United States.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial services beginning at noon at Blackman United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Clardy officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Memorial Cemetery in McMinnville.
