McMinnville resident and Warren County native Thelma Duncan, 89, was born May 12,1927 and died Dec. 9 at her residence following an extended illness.A retired Inspector with A.O. Smith and a member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Willie Mai Rowland Simons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Thelma Lee; and brother, George “Buddy” Simons.She is survived by daughter Patricia King of McMinnville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Judit Duncan of Destin, Fla., George and Margie Duncan of Indianapolis, Ind., Kenny and Rose Duncan of McMinnville, and Jim and Carol Duncan of Baxter; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Sue Brown of McMinnville; brother, Paul Simons of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at High’s Chapel with Rex Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Morrison Cemetery.
