Smyrna resident and Warren County native Steven Joe Clendenon, 51, was born March 30, 1970 and died March 25 at his residence following a sudden illness.
Steven was the son of the late Joe Ross and Charlotte Jean Maynard Clendenon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Houston and Dollie Maynard, paternal grandparents, Livy and Emma Gladys Clendenon, and very special aunt June Roberts.
He is survived by two sisters and brother-in-law Regina and Jeff Woodlee and Dana Roller, four nieces, Courtney (Jeff) Chisam, Haley (Matt) Nelson, Lauren (Taylor) Cathey and Abby Roller (Ben Myers), nephew Mitchell Woodlee, great-niece Brynlee Chisam, great-nephews Brody Chisam and Nash Nelson and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Steven was a member of the Church of Christ and loved to fish, hunt, watch TV and spend time with his family, especially his nieces and nephew and great-niece and great-nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Thomas Mmbaga and Deltra Fowlkes for taking such good care of Steve for so many years.
Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at High’s Chapel with Daron Hall and Mitchell Woodlee officiating. Burial followed at Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek. Visitation was held Monday and Tuesday at High’s.
