Stephen “Steve” Ray Potter, 80, of Morrison passed from this life Monday, May 4, at his home following an extended illness.

Steve was born Sunday, Sept. 3, 1939 in Dunlap, the son of the late Auby Potter and the late Evelyn Heard Potter. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Trinty Baptist Church in Lucky. He was a sewing machine mechanic for 36 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed camping and fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

Steve is survived by his wife of 44 years Gail Martin Potter, two sons Stephen Potter and wife Stacie, Michael Potter, two grandsons Grayson and Aiden, five sisters Gladys Armstrong, Shirley Baker, Lisa Potter, Charlotte Potter, and Reba Simmons, brother Tommy Potter, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his two brothers Auby Potter, and Alvie Potter, four sisters Stella Potter, Ruth Rogers, June Chavez and Lois Grissom, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was Wednesday at Mt. View Cemetery located at Hwy 30 McMinnville with Jerry Smith officiating. Online condolences may be made at gardensofmemoryfuneralhome.com.
