Sophie Ethel Tubb, 104, died Sunday, March 23, at her home after an extended illness.Born Oct. 7, 1909 in Readyville to the late Katy (Johnson) and William Claude Perry Sr., she worked at McMinnville Garment Factory for 35 years and was a member of the Church of Christ.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Shelah E. Tubb; grandson, Clark E. Tubb; four brothers, W.C. Perry, Oscar Perry, Hugh Perry and Charley Ray Perry; and three sisters, Kathryn Newby, Christine Perry and Faye Turner.She is survived by son, William Edd and Stella Tubb of McMinnville; daughters, Nelle K. Roller and her late husband, Otis of McMinnville and Geraldine T. Fish of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gardens of Memory with George Kesler officiating.
