Mr. Sid Stewart, 86, of McMinnville died Thursday, Sept, 21, at his residence in McMinnville.
Sid was born Saturday, Aug. 15, 1931 in McMinnville. He was born to the late Hobart and Pauline (Cantrell) Stewart and was the husband of Sophie Roller Stewart. He worked as a plant supervisor at Cadmet Corporation in Warren, Mich., and was a member of Gath Baptist Church. Sid loved to laugh and play golf with his friends.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years Sophie (Roller) Stewart, son Rick Stewart and wife Judy of McMinnville, daugther Cynthia Davis and husband Mitch of California, daughter-in-law Michelle Stewart of Brea, Calif., eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends and church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart and Pauline (Cantrell) Stewart, beloved son Roger Stewart, two brothers, George and Paul Stewart, four sisters, Katy Tomlin, Mattie Sue Vaughn, Florence Keeton, and Betty Ruth Maxwell.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Stewart and John Padgett officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gath Cemetery in McMinnville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels or Gath Baptist Day for the Lord Mission Fund.
