Mrs. Sharon Black Coppinger, 65, of Benton died Saturday, Sept. 1, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

She was born Feb. 14, 1953, in McMinnville, was a homemaker, and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Coppinger was preceded in death by her parents Jimmie Tindell and Betty Irene Basham Black, brother Mason Black, and son Gregg Couch.

Survivors include her husband Terry Coppinger, children Maria (Mike) Pike, Jimmie (Tennille) Couch, Vanessa (Ernie) Winchester, and Chad (Tammy) Coppinger, sister Josie Winchester, 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Many family friends also survive.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Eddie Gladson will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
