Selma Franklin Maltsberger, 89, of Johnson City died Saturday, Jan. 10, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Marshall, N.C., a daughter of the late Blanco and Bessie Bishop Franklin. She was an educator, having served as a biology and English teacher at both Lynnview High School in Kingsport and Science Hill High School in Johnson City then served as principal at Southside Elementary for 17 years.
