Scottie Ray Gilbert, 46, a Morrison resident and Warren County native, died Jan. 2 in St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was an employee with Highland Rim Construction Company, a member of the Church of Christ and son of Junetta Gilbert of McMinnville and the late Billy Howard Gilbert. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Barry Hale.
Mr. Gilbert was married July 1997 to Cynthia Rackley Gilbert of Morrison who survives. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by daughter, Amber Gilbert (Corey Passenger) of Woodbury; son Ryan Gilbert (Meghan Albany) of Rock Island; granddaughter Tabitha Randall; brothers, Ritchie (Lisa) Gilbert and Jeffery Gilbert, both of McMinnville; adopted sister Linda Walling of Spencer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Linda Lee (Russell Goney) of Sparta, Lee Ellis of Nashville, Donna (Barry) Mullican of McMinnville, Mary Ann Hale of Michigan and Valerie Hale of Nashville; nephew Tristen Gilbert of McMinnville, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Graveside service and interment will be 1 p.m. Wednesday with Tony Lawrence to officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at High’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kids of the Community.
