Scott Lakeland “Lake” Hankal, 24, of McMinnville died Friday, March 15 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Knoxville.
He was born Feb. 9, 1989, in Clarksville, Ms., graduated with the Class of 2007 at Warren County High School, was a former student at MTSU where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and an employee of Cheddars Restaurant. Mr. Hankal was preceded in death by grandfather George S. Hankal Sr., stepsister Ginny Prince, and uncle Jerry Green.
Survivors include his mother, Roxanne Hankal; father and stepmother, Stan and Ellen Hankal; sister, Myrandia Hankal; brother, Clay Hankal; grandparents, Opal Hankal and Jack and Marinelle Green, god-son Sylas Bouldin; stepsister, Marcy Hillis, aunts Dena (Tony) Inman, Barbara Green, Jackie Green, Janetta (Clyde) Collins, Treva (Phillip) Carter, Jenny (Joe) Montgomery, and Cathy (Rick) Barrett; uncles, Jack Green, Jr., David (Penny) Hankal, and Paul (Tammie) Hankal; many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
A memorial service was held Thursday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Harry Green officiated. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
