McMinnville resident and Warren County native Sandra Kaye Yates, 69, was born June 26, 1950 and died May 18 at her residence following a sudden illness.

A retired photo journalist with the Southern Standard and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late J.C. “Goodbuddy” and Mamie Suttles Blaylock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson Jairus Alexander, sister Betty Sue Davis, and brother Paul Samuel Blaylock.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Meshale and Jr. Myers of McMinnville, Shonda and Jim Brewer of Franklin, and Jolenia Alexander of McMinnville, seven grandchildren, Gage and Paige Myers, Joseph C. Alexander, Cayden Brewer, and Lexie, Emily and Sarah Brewer, all of McMinnville, sister Rosetta Clark of Quebeck, brother and sister-in-law Joe and Bonnie Blaylock of Dickson, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private graveside service and interment will be held at Friendship Cemetery with Jackie Matheny officiating. There will be no visitation or service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
