McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Sandra Kay Sparkman, 71, was born March 5, 1947 and died Dec. 13 in her home surrounded with friends and family following an extended illness.
An employee of Merchants Retail Credit Bureau for 40 years and a member of West Riverside Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Theiron Page and Lela Louise Priest Bouldin. She was married to Bobby Lee Sparkman Sr., who preceded her in death Nov. 15, 2010. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Glenn Bouldin and Kenneth Page Bouldin; and brother-in-law Jean-Claude Petit.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Stephanie Sparkman of Viola; granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Sparkman of Viola; brother and sister-in-law Dennis Lynn and Anna Bouldin of Virginia; two sisters and brother-in-law Judy Elaine Petit of McMinnville and Sharon Diane and Kerry McPeak of Rock Island; sister-in-law Barbara Bouldin of McMinnville; two brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Wade and Violet Sparkman of McMinnville and Dale Sparkman of McMinnville; great friend Faye Greene of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at High's Chapel with Dorris Hughes, Bobby Sparkman and Steve Short officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High's.
