Sam E. Womack, 71, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born Aug. 21, 1946 and died Oct. 24 at his residence following an extended illness.
He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard, was a self-employed nurseryman, member of the Church of Christ and son of the late William Samuel and Frances Mildred Evins Womack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Graelyn Womack, and sister Nancy McGregor.
Mr. Womack was married March 16, 1968 to Melinda Ramsey Womack, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Ramsey and Irish Womack and Landon Womack, all of McMinnville; and four grandchildren, Bracton Womack of McMinnville, Tyler Womack of Cookeville, Ansli Womack of Rock Island, and Lilly Womack of McMinnville.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Mt. View Cemetery with Jackie Matheny to officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
