Sallie R.E. Bryan, 89, a Vicksburg, Miss., resident and Warren County nativ, died Feb. 21 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Miss., following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bryan was the daughter of the late John Riley and Izzie Arnettie Gilley Barnes. She was a homemaker and member of Charles Creek The Baptist Church. She wrote numerous songs and prayers and sang her songs in church.
She was married to Edward Kermit Bryan, Sr. who preceded her in death April 22, 1980. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Bonnie Hollandsworth; brothers, Robert "Dick" and James Thurman "Bud" Barnes; grandson, Kyle Adcock and great-grandson, Maddox Brink.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Mickey Adcock, McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Roger Flatt, Madison, Miss.; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Julie Bryan, Vicksburg, Miss.; daughter and son-in-law, Lanora and Jim Morrow, Little Rock Ark.; son, Leslie Bryan, Prescott Valley, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Page, Tyler Adcock, Caleb Bryan, Leah Ziedeil, Katie Ryan, Scott Bryan, John Riley Bryan, Terri Hunt, Allison Williams, Ralph Brink, Shane Bryan and Clint Bryan; 17 great-grandchildren, Carter Adcock, Journee Page, Anniston Page, Beau Page, Scarlett Ryan, Melodyanna Ziedeil, Megan Garner, Emily Hunt, Adam Kirkpatrick, Zachery Kirkpatrick, Logan Williams, Ashleigh Brink, Carson Brink, Kayanna Bryan, Jake Bryan, Cody Bryan and Sean Bryan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in High's Chapel with Nick Pelham officiating. Interment followed in the Fountain Grove Cemetery in Coffee County.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
