Ruth Jeanette Vaughn, 79, Walling resident and White County native, was born Jan. 23, 1933 and died Nov. 16 at Life Care Center of Sparta following an extended illness.
A farmer and homemaker and a member of Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Willie Mae Wiggington Seals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Ellen Seals, Helen Armstrong and Prietta Seals; granddaughter, Lauren Rachel Vaughn; and son-in-law, Michael Jordan.
She was married Sept. 15, 1952 to Clyde Terrell Vaughn of Walling, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children and their spouses, John Michael and Lyn Vaughn of Sparta, Teresa and Bruce MacLeod of Walling, Deborah Jordan of McMinnville, and Serena and Stewart Lonas of McMinnville; 10 grandchildren, Chase Vaughn, Amber Moore, Cole Vaughn, Bruce MacLeod Jr., Roderick MacLeod, Whitney MacLeod, Clint Jordan, Jeanette Bond, Annamarie Lonas and Addisyn Lonas; four great-grandchildren, Caden Moore, Ava Moore, Lydia Vaughn and Justin Bond; one sister, Mildred Martin of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church with Bruce MacLeod Jr., and Ron Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. in High’s Parlor, and Monday from noon until the time of service at the church.
