Roberta Grissom Haston Boyd, 91

Rock Island resident and Van Buren County native Roberta Grissom Haston Boyd, 91, was born Dec. 14, 1921 and died May 1 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.A retired employee of Taft Youth Center and member of Campaign Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Annie Johnson Grissom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Chester L. Haston Sr. and David C. Boyd; son Chester L. Haston Jr.; great-grandson, Allen Tyler Haston and sister, Lora Sammie Grissom.Mrs. Boyd is survived by a son, Bobby Haston of Spencer; three daughters, June (Tom) McCoy of Bone Cave, Roxanne (Bruce) Crain of Rock Island, and Jamie (Marion) Pope of Estill Springs; 10 grandchildren, Bonita Haston of Gulf Port, Ms., Robert Van Haston of Cookeville, Tonya Swan of McMinnville, Tommy McCoy and Torrey McCoy, both of Bone Cave, Julie Bolin and Jessica May, both of Estill Springs, Matthew Haston of Knoxville, Lori Hackney of Murfreesboro, and Maria Pillai of Chattanooga; 10 great-grandchildren, Chase Swan and Taylor Swan, both of McMinnville, Trenton McCoy and Madison McCoy, both of Bone Cave, Krissa Powers and Kason Bolin, both of Winchester, Kameron Bolin and Kaleigh May, both of Estill Springs, Ben Hackney of Murfreesboro, and Samuel Pillai of Chattanooga, and four great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Powers, Makayla Powers, Brayden Powers and Elijah Powers, all of Winchester.Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at High’s Chapel with Jeff Kesley, Marion Pope and Mark Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at Cummingsville Cemetery in Van Buren County.
