Robert Wayne Burns, 54

McMinnville resident and Davidson County native Robert Wayne Burns, 54, was born Aug. 30, 1956 and died March 22 at his residence following an extended illness. 
An employee of Bridgestone/ Firestone in LaVergne, a United States Navy veteran of Vietnam and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Robert and Barbara June West Burns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fathers-in-law, Frank Pinegar and J.P. Stubblefield, and uncle, Edy West. 
He was married April 28, 1995 to Judy Ann Pinegar Burns of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Adam Cunningham of Florida; two daughters, Samantha Katlyn Burns of Mt. Juliet, and Emily Burns of McMinnville; stepson, Tony Chapman of McMinnville; two stepdaughters and step-son-in-law, Stacey and Allen West and Stephanie Chapman, all of McMinnville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frankie and Cecil Ferrell of Morrison, and Eddie and Corazon Pinegar of McMinnville; nine grandchildren; mother-in-law, Annie Belle Stubblefield of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. 
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with George King Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
