Mr. Robert Lee Boyd, 99, of Rock Island died Monday, Aug. 13, at the Webb House. He was born Aug. 21, 1918, in Rock Island, served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, was the recipient of both the Purple Heart and the Bronze star with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, and retired as a superintendent with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
