Robert Don Glenn, 74, was born Jan. 20, 1946 and passed from this life to be with our Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro after a brief illness. 

Don was a member of the Church of Christ and he faithfully served as an elder at the Hwy 56N congregation. He served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Vietnam Era. Don retired as a lumber inspector and lumber yard manager at Mayfield Lumber Company. He graduated from McMinnville Central High School in 1964. In 1965, he graduated from NHLA Lumber Inspector School in Memphis.

Don touched so many peoples’ lives. He was active in the horse community, participating in Team Penning, Cutting, and Reining. He made so many friends throughout his life. The people that knew Don knew he loved to pull pranks on anyone that was around and to share a good joke. He was always willing to help anyone in need, whether it was physical, emotional, or spiritual. He lived his Christianity as well as practiced it.

Don was the son of the late Virgil Lee and Ruby Mitchell Glenn of McMinnville. He was also preceded in death by sister Ada Glenn Mayfield, nephew Jeff Mayfield, niece Jalesia Mayfield Hansen, great niece Lela Anne and brother-in-law Bill Rymer. He is survived by his wife Pamela Miller Glenn of 49 years, a daughter Becca Glenn Loper of Huntland, TN, a grandson Gabriel Loper of Huntland, sisters Mrs. Jimmie G. Rymer of McCaysville, Ga., and Debby Glenn of McMinnville, brother-in-law Bob Mayfield, nephews and nieces David (Janice) Mayfield, Leland (Ann) Rymer, Amy (Charles) Layne, Tim Hansen, 10 great nephews and nieces, 11 great-great nieces and nephews, several cousins, and many, many friends.

Per his wishes, Don will be cremated. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or to a charity of your choosing. Online condolences may be made at
