McMinnville resident and Warren County native Robert “Bobby” Drewer, 57, was born Aug. 2, 1953 and died unexpectedly June 19 at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas in Nashville.
A cook at Waffle House and a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, he was the son of the late Jesse Leon and Aline Hamby Drewer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Drewer; and one sister, Linda Mullican.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tara and David Clark of McMinnville and Stacie and Tommy Barrett of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Abby Clark of McMinnville and Cain Barrett and Ethan Barrett, both of Shelbyville; fiancée, Wanda Darling of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Linda Drewer Sr. of Bowling Green, Ky., and Billy and Bonnie Drewer of Lewisburg, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Dean Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow at Grange Hall Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.
