Robert “Bob” McAllister Sr., 67

On Friday, Jan. 15, Robert “Bob” McAllister Sr., loving father and pa, passed away at the age of 67, after a hardfought battle with cancer.


Bob was born on July 8, 1953 in Richmond, Calif., to Peggy Ann (Glasgow) and Perry Glenn McAllister. Bob has been a resident of Cannon County and the Short Mountain community for the past 23 years. Bob was a mechanic and a semi-truck driver who spent most of his career as a long-haul driver, and most recently drove for Boyd and Boyd Nursery. He was an avid horse rider and passed his love of horses down to his 10 grandchildren. He will be most remembered for his playful, ornery spirit and the love he had for his family.


Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father.


He leaves behind his daughter, Kelly Elkins (Jeremy), daughter Katie Willis (Shane), and son Robert “Bobby” McAllister Jr. (Megan). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Tyler Mills (Laura & Jayden), Zachary Murray (Penny), Brianna Young, Owen Mills, Trent Mills, Trinity Murray, Abigail Mills, Caleb McAllister, Wyatt Elkins and Lacey Willis.


A private ceremony will be held for the immediate family to honor him.
