McMinnville resident and Cannon County native Richard Lavoy Bryan, 72, was born Feb. 5, 1943 and died Sept. 30 at his residence. A retired construction worker and a member of Friendship the Baptist Church, was the son of the late Carl Ellis and Pearl Olean Byars Bryan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Heaton and Patricia Fowler.He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Melanie Jones of McMinnville and Gina and Tim Higgins of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Terri Bryan of Rock Island; five grandchildren, Nichole Chisam and husband Jeremy, Chelsea Jones, Dylan Jones, Savannah Bryan and Hadassah Bryan; four great-grandchildren, Anaston and Brayden Chisam, and Parker and Lanie Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Lonnie Pendley of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in High’s Chapel with Steve Breedlove and Bryan Jones officiating.
