Sarasota, Florida resident formerly of McMinnville Richard Gudat, 76, was born July 7, 1943 and died June 10, 2021 after a sudden illness.

The owner of Mr. G’s Pawn Shop in the early 1980s during his time in McMinnville, he was an auctioneer, furniture store owner of Osprey Bargain Barn, and he owned a moving company during his time in Sarasota, Florida. He had lived there since 1986. He loved to restore Cushman scooters and was known for always hunting a bargain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Herald Gudat, in 2006. He is survived by his children, Aaron Gudat, Twana Gudat, Kim Gudat, Kevin Gudat, all of McMinnville, and grandchildren Hunter Gudat, Ashley Gudat, Ceilee Gudat, and Allie Gudat.

A memorial service was held in Sarasota, Fla., and a local ceremony will be scheduled for a later date.
