McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Ray Brymer Jr., 69, was born Aug. 9, 1945 and died Jan. 10 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga following a sudden illness.A retired guidance counselor with Taft Youth Center and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late William Ray and Maggie Lene Brymer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Alene Brymer.Mr. Brymer was married to Linda Brymer of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Phillip Ray (Juanita) Brymer of Barrow, Alaska; two granddaughters, Megan Lynnae Brymer and Kristen Annette Brymer, both of Spencer; stepson, Nathan (Candice) Jones of McMinnville; three step-grandchildren; two brothers, Jay (Ann) Brymer of Rock Island, and Charles Brymer of Crossville; sister, Mary Virginia (Neal) O’Neal of Spencer, and several nieces and nephews.
