Rachel Higdon, 75, of Bowling Green, Ky., died Thursday, Jan. 31 at her residence. The Gunterville, Ala., native was the daughter of the late Jewell and Ella Bridges Kennamer. She was a retired sales representative for Standard Publishing, a retired Army wife of 20 years, an incredible loving wife, mother and grandmother, and an avid supporter of her kids and grandkids.She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ed Higdon; daughters, Pam Bowdoin and Kim Vanderglas (Joel) of Bowling Green; sisters, Dorothy Schrimscher of New Hope, Ala., Dainesase Lemley (Burlin) Of New Hope, Evelyn Lewis (Will) of McMinnville and Shirley Cunningham (Ray) of Brownsville, Texas; brother, Harvey Kennamer (Pat) of MCMinnville; grandchildren, Brittany Bowdoin, Justin Vanderglas, Bradley Vanderglas, Hope Vanderglas and Nicholas Foster; several nieces and nephews.She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Ladies Golf Association of Bowling Green for 13 years.Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with memorial service at 5 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
