McMinnville resident and Jackson County native Phillip W. Bennett, 75, was born July 24, 1948 and died July 8, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville following an extended illness. 

A retired tool and die journeyman and member of Berea Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Finis and Elnora Polson Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Terry Bennett. 

He was married to Jane Bennett of McMinnville on Dec. 23, 1967. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bennett is survived by daughter, Leann (Tony) Fults of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kainan, Johnnie and Dezrick Fults, all of McMinnville; sister, Dr. Sheri Trent of South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Glyna Lee of North Carolina, Donna (Doug) Thweatt of Gallatin and Brenda (Richard) Bumbalough of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12 in High’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Eugene Adkins officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
