Perry Anthony “Tony” Cope, 62, of Morrison, died Saturday, Oct. 1 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 3, 1953, in McMinnville, was a longtime nurseryman and formerly served as general manager with Shady Valley Nursery before opening Witty Creek Nursery. He is the past president of TNLA. Mr. Cope was preceded in death by parents, R.L. and Sally Jo Locke Cope, and sister-in-law, Teresa Troutman Pressly.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Troutman Cope, children Matthew Cope and Meredith Cope, sister, Gail (Bud) Franklin, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Vangie Troutman, and brothers-in-law, David (Cheryl) Troutman, Gary (Tammy) Troutman and Tom Pressly. Several nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Michael Lorance and Bud Franklin will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The Cope family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
