McMinnville resident and Sumner County native Penny Irene Emler, 60, was born Aug. 11, 1950 and died April 28 at her residence following an extended illness.A retired CNA, she was the daughter of the late Odell and Neoma Brooks Crook. She was married to James Emler, who preceded her in death April 21, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Monroe Crook and sister, Myrtle Wilson.
